Hello WubaLoves!
I'm Melissa, the light of WubaLife. My journey into the wonderful world of soap began with a heartfelt call from my Grandmother, eager to share her cherished sudsy secrets. I embarked on a three-hour drive to unlock the mysteries of soap-making. As the oils mingled and swirled, I was utterly captivated! I crafted soap for years until 2023, when I decided to transform my beloved hobby into a business. By 2024, I introduced candles cradled in cozy concrete vessels—a charming addition that now warms my heart. Plus, I'll soon be adding room sprays and lotions!
Fun fact: Wuba is Swahili and means, 'I saw Beauty'. So my rough translation for WubaLife is, 'I saw a beautiful life'.
Okay, so I'm an introverted coffeeaholic. I've married my hero who is my dearest bestest friend and we have four adventurous, amazing, witty (shall I go on?) adult children. I'm dearly in love with my six (yes, six!) cats! Two are Sebastian & Biscuit (or Thor, depends on who's talking to him), they both have Cerebellar Hypoplaysia, with Sebastian also having twisted leg syndrome (mostly corrected) and a huge heart. Everyday they makes us laugh!! We as well have our feisty senior cat, Bella and three tortie kittens named Miss Pip, Sophie & Mercy that were basically dumped into my lap, lol!
WubaLife is based on this:
My creations celebrate the beauty of imperfections. It's all right to craft something uniquely flawed. As well as it being perfectly fine if your hair dances in whimsical disarray and if your home feels lived-in rather than pristine. Embrace the essence of who you are, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Dear heart, let it be a gentle acceptance of who you are. You are beauty itself.
